Experience the ultimate Oakridge singletrack mountain bike tour, where you’ll navigate the lush, old-growth forests and legendary loam-filled descents of the Oregon Cascades. This fully supported Oakridge guided cycling adventure handles every detail from gourmet meals to gear logistics, allowing you to focus on the world-class flow and emerald scenery of the Northwest’s premier mountain biking capital.

We will be without vehicle support during many sections of the ride. Itineraries are subject to change due to weather, road conditions, rider safety, and other factors which may affect the logistics of the adventure.

Technical Difficulty: Strong Intermediate with some more difficult sections singletrack sections can be soft and rooty.

Day 1: Middle Fork Willamette River Trail

  • Following a one-hour shuttle from Eugene, we arrive in the Oakridge mountain biking hub to visit the local Mercantile and soak up the PNW trail scene.
  • We then shuttle to Indigo Springs to gear up for an inaugural ride on the Middle Fork Willamette River Trail.
  • This classic Oregon singletrack offers a perfect introduction to the region, featuring a technical mix of mossy roots, river-smoothed rocks, and refreshing creek crossings.
  • It is the ideal day to dial in your bike and build momentum for the epic week of shuttle-supported riding ahead.
  • We wrap the day at a stunning riverside camp, nestled on a picturesque terrace within an ancient, old-growth forest.
  • Total Mileage: 15 Miles

Day 2: Moon Point & Young’s Rock/ Middle Fork Willamette River Trail

  • This morning marks our first deep dive into the renowned Oakridge downhill trails.
  • We’ll shuttle to Moon Point for a scenic journey through sub-alpine meadows, including a detour to a rocky overlook for panoramic views of the Diamond Peak Wilderness.
  • From the summit, you’ll drop into a fast, loamy descent that switchbacks through ancient forest all the way back to camp for lunch.
  • After refueling, we rejoin the Middle Fork Willamette River Trail, where the terrain shifts to a lush, rolling XC experience alongside mossy banks and towering cedars.
  • After conquering the trail's punchy climbs and technical roots, we’ll cool off with a swim in the emerald pools of the Willamette River.
  • Total Mileage: 26 Miles

Day 3: Dead Mountain & Larison Rock

  • Today’s itinerary is a guide favorite, embodying the very essence of Pacific Northwest mountain biking.
  • We kick off with the legendary Dead Mountain Trail, a world-class destination ride known for its thrilling, flowy descents through magnificent Douglas firs.
  • The route requires focus and finesse as you navigate a dynamic landscape of root webs, rocky armor, and natural drops.
  • We conclude the morning in the heart of Oakridge for a riverside lunch at Greenriver Park before transitioning to our second masterpiece: Larison Rock.
  • This beautifully sculpted trail features high-speed berms and natural features that allow you to carry effortless momentum through the deep woods.
  • Total Mileage: 15 Miles

Day 4: Alpine Trail | The Crown Jewel

  • The world-famous Alpine Trail is our main event today—a name synonymous with epic Oregon mountain biking.
  • While the mileage is just under 15 miles, this ride is a definitive test of stamina, featuring a 2,000-foot ascent and a staggering 5,000-foot descent.
  • The downhill is a masterful blend of speed and flow, allowing you to fly through the temperate rainforest on an incredibly smooth singletrack.
  • The trail maintains a technical edge with ridgeline exposure and rock gardens that demand your full attention.
  • It is a descent that manages to be both wildly fun and deeply engaging—the ultimate "smile-inducing" finale to our big mountain days.
  • Total Mileage: 18 Miles

Day 5: Lawler Trail | The Grand Finale

  • Our final day caps off the adventure with a shuttle to the summit of the Lawler Trail, a classic high-country Oregon ride.
  • The reward is a descent that is as technically thrilling as it is profoundly beautiful, winding along steep, challenging terrain.
  • You'll navigate a gauntlet of root gardens, tight switchbacks, and rocky sections that provide a final, exhilarating test of your skills.
  • After conquering Lawler, we gather for a final celebratory lunch to relax, share stories, and recount the highlights of an unforgettable week in Oakridge.

Be sure to bring everything on this list. We have carefully developed this list to ensure your comfort on the tour regardless of the weather. If you are prepared for extreme weather, it is an adventure. If you are not prepared it can be a serious problem. We recommend the layering system, including a wicking or long underwear layer, an insulating layer and a weather barrier for wind and rain. This list reflects that philosophy. Weather in the mountains can be unpredictable so be sure to bring all the warm clothing and rain gear listed!

HOW TO PACK: The bulk of your gear and clothing will ride in the Western Spirit support vehicle (preferably in a large duffle bag) and will not be accessible during the day.

For this trip, you will need a riding pack and optional day bag:

  •  Your riding pack may be a hydration pack, but needs to carry 2-3 liters of water, rain gear, other warm clothing, and food for the day. You may be away from camp and the support vehicle all day and need to be self-sufficient.
  • A small day bag is optional and may be used to store things you’d rather not ride with, but would like to have access to during the day. This day-pack will remain with the support vehicle and may not be accessible, depending on the day.

o cash for tipping guides: your guides work as a team and share all of their gratuities. A tip of 10-20% of the price of your trip given to either one of your guides when you return to civilization is a great way to say thanks for a job well done.

o we encourage you to turn your devices off, but if you cannot, please bring a way to charge them. We recommend a portable USB charger with 1-2 charges. Also, putting your phone on airplane mode to save power is recommended.
