Moab Disc-o Mania
So, I usually have Thursdays off and I try to do something fun and/or active with my bf John. He is a “truck building machine” (Mercedes Benz Unimogs) and he needs to get out of the garage and smell the roses sometimes!
It was late afternoon and we decided to head to Moab’s new disc golf course near the old Community Park. With an assortment of discs in one hand and a beer in the other, we were off! It’s a tricky course, but good fun. There are plenty of junipers to negotiate and I have yet to par on any hole. I have bogeyed+++ on many! John tosses a good frisbee so he comes up with a winning scorecard.
Highlight: plenty of curious deer on holes 7-11. My goal is to train them to catch and retrieve a frisbee someday. I’ve got that PE teacher background, so I’m pretty confident, lol. “Funny”light: John sacrificing a disc to the “frisbee gods”. Lowlight: the terrain is starting to get trounced with lots of foot traffic due to errant throws.
